Pendaries-Village
is a resort community located near the tiny village of Rociada in northern New Mexico. It's just a thirty-minute drive north of Las Vegas, and both Santa Fe and Taos are approximately an hour from Pendaries Village. Called "a well-kept secret," Pendaries Village offers stunning views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The centerpiece of the community is a challenging, high-meadow 18-hole golf course. Other amenities at the village include overnight lodging accommodations, house rentals, a restaurant, golf shop with snack bar, a conference center, a chapel and the historic Moosehead Saloon. Besides golf, other recreational activities include hiking in the adjacent Pecos Wilderness and bicycling along miles of lightly-traveled mountain roads. It's a beautiful area of hidden canyons and charming adobe villages, abundant wildlife and birds. If you enjoy stargazing, you'll be rewarded with clear, dark skies. If you're a history buff, northern New Mexico has much to offer. From the pueblo ruins at Pecos National Monument and early Spanish ranches to landmarks along the Old Santa Fe Trail - it's all here. The nearby cities of Santa Fe and Taos have numerous art galleries and museums and other cultural offerings. Snow skiing and snowboarding are also available in the Pendaries Village area in the wintertime. Albuquerque, home of the International Balloon Fiesta and the New Mexico State Fair, is about two hours from Pendaries Village.

New Mexico's climate ranges from arid to semiarid, with a wide range of temperatures, depending on elevation. Average January temperatures vary from about 35°F in the north to about 55°F in the southern and central regions. July temperatures range from about 78°F at high elevations to around 92°F at lower elevations. Average annual precipitation ranges from 9.5 inches in the desert to over 20 inches at higher elevations. Nearly one-half the annual rainfall comes during July and August, and thunderstorms are common in the summer. Snow is much more frequent in the north than in the south.
